Youth council funding for all secondary schools
All 167 secondary schools will now have access to a National Youth Council (NYC) funding programme to support students in community involvement projects.
Previously, the Campus ChangeMaker grant was available only to 33 schools.
In line with the expansion, $1 million has been set aside in the next three years from next year to drive the initiatives. This is a jump from the $180,000 that students can tap this year.
The Campus ChangeMaker scheme, which started in 2009, aims to nurture leaders by providing funding and backing to youngsters keen to implement projects in their school or neighbourhood.
