Despite a slew of cooling measures introduced by the government, prices of resale flats continue to climb and it appears that the magical $1 million dollar price tag will be reached sooner, rather than later.
According to resale transactions in March, one 25 year old Bishan Maisonette in Bishan Street 13 fetched a whooping $900,000:
The prices of HDB flats have nearly doubled in the last five years on the back of a supply crunch in new flats and fueled by population growth via immigration.

Such a unit probably cost between $120,000 to $150,000 when it was first launched for sale by HDB in 1987.
