Soon you won't need to hit the ATM to get cash when you’re running low at the end of the month because 7-Eleven stores will accept credit cards.
Thai Smart Card, the company that operates the Smart Purse top-up cards used for payments at 7-Eleven, has signed a contract with Visa to enable its credit card holders to pay for their late night snacks and booze with a swipe.

The credit card payment will first be implemented at 7-Eleven stores in Bangkok and tourist destinations some time in the fourth quarter of this year, but eventually, all 7-Eleven stores will accept credit cards.
"7-Eleven is wide network of convenience stores. While most credit card users in Thailand choose Visa, allying with Thai Smart Card will help develop the electronic payment system in Thailand and facilitate consumers," Supipong Tantiyanon, General Manager at Visa Thailand said.
While it is likely that there will be, the company has not yet announced if there will be a minimum charge for customers who want to pay with their credit cards, Positioning Magreported.

NONTHABURI — A 23-year-old competitive cyclist was killed during a night ride in a Bangkok suburb last night.

Prapot Kaewpila was trying to speed through a small opening between a truck and motorcycle at the entrance of Soi Pracha Chuen 9 when he hit the motorbike. Both its rider and Prapot went down, and as dashboard cam footage from another vehicle showed, Prapot’s head was immediately run over by the truck. He died instantly.
Police Capt. Niphon Ponsawat from Rattanathibet police station, who arrived on the scene at about 9pm, said police are looking for both the truck and motorcycle taxi drivers, who fled the scene. Police have their license plate numbers.
Cyclists are a regular sight on both sides of Pracha Chuen Road at night. The road, which is the border between Bangkok and Nonthaburi provinces, is popular as a long, straight, canalside run.
An unidentified friend of Prapot’s told police the cyclist regularly joined races and won sixth place at a competition west of Bangkok in Nakhon Pathom province earlier this year.

BANGKOK: -- A Thai man who tried to get back together with his university girlfriend stabbed her in a frenzy then went home and hanged himself, police in Bangkok say.

Din Daeng police called to flats in the area found the body of 28 year old Pattanan Khantha, a political science student at Ramkhahaeng Universtity face up in a pool of blood on her bed. She had been stabbed 15 times. Food was scattered all around the room reported Daily News.

A neighbor who lived on the same floor said that she had moved in about a year ago and kept herself to herself. Her boyfriend - now known as Wirawat (or Aaf) Permpoonthaweesak, 27, would visit on days off. They had apparently split up recently and she moved out only to return a few days ago as she was taking some exams at university.

A cousin Nara Khantha, 31, told investigating officers that Pattanan had moved out after breaking up with her boyfriend. All the families knew about the split, she said, but Wirawat refused to accept it. Her cousin moved back to her flat for a few days because of the exams and she suspected that Wirawat had visited her trying to get back together again.

Police went to Wirawat's lodgings in Phasi Charoen district thereafter and found him hanging from a curtain rail. He was already dead.

BANGKOK — A musician’s body was discovered with more than a dozen stab wounds early this morning, and police suspect he was a victim of jealous rage.

Manus Leerungreung, 23, was found dead next to his motorcycle at 12:30am on Thursday near Soi Sathu Pradit 31, not far from CentralPlaza Rama III mall. He had been stabbed 17 times. Witnesses told police Manus had been stopped by two strangers wearing helmets on another motorcycle. The unidentified passenger riding on the back got off the bike and attacked Manus with a knife.
“Preliminarily, we suspect jealousy is behind the motive,” said police Capt. Sarayuth Santad from Bang Pong Pang police station.
Weerasak Janpha, 24, told reporters that Manus, his friend, was a musician at his pub and restaurant. While playing guitar Wednesday night, two women bought him a beer. They later spoke with him after the show before leaving by taxi.
Weerasak said he did not think Manus knew the women.
Manus’ body was taken for further examination. Police said they are investigating to find his murderers.

Done by a psychotic shit.
May not have been "conscious" deed, but poor fire safety standards so prevalent in LOS.
If it was the former, then no disagreement on wishing bad (and terrible) karma.
Most tragic either way, as this was foundation for hill tribes kids up north :(

Udon man borrows his friend's motorbike to go and rape his girlfriend

u.jpg

UDON THANI: -- An Udon man borrowed his friend's motorbike to go and rape his pal's girlfriend. But she fought back and bit his tongue causing the assailant to flee covered in blood.

Wallop Klomkliang,25, was soon arrested by Samut Prakarn police and though he initially denied involvement he later admitted his crime Sunday.

"Ae" and girlfriend "Som" (both assumed names), both 25, were in their rented room in a block in Soi Sapbunchai 31, Bang Muang, Samut Prakarn when the girl complained of a stomach ache so Ae decided to ride off on his motorbike to buy some medication at the end of the soi reported Daily News.

On the way he met Wallop drinking and stopped for a chat. Wallop asked to borrow his bike to go and buy some pork balls. He didn't come back for fully one hour and when he did his mouth was covered in blood. He said he had got in a fight and Ae thought nothing much of it.

But after Ae had bought the meds and returned home he found his girlfriend in a state of shock. There were bloodstains in their shared room. She said that Wallop had entered the room and tried to rape her. He had put his hand on her throat and tried to kiss her but she had fought back and managed to bite his tongue very hard. Wallop then ran off.

Ae called police and Wallop was arrested at his lodgings in a nearby soi.

He initially denied involvement but later admitted that he had fancied his friend's girlfriend for a long time because she was attractive. He was drunk and felt the need for sex, he said.
He added that he borrowed Ae's motorcycle and went to their room where he let himself in with the key on the key ring.

Police detained him Sunday as they prepare their case.

BANGKOK: -- A man high on Ya Ba caused a media sensation Monday after driving his motorbike into a KFC in a Tesco Lotus in Bangkok.

Pictures and a video clip showed the 23 year old bare chested man enter the restaurant on his Yamaha. He was injured thereafter when he refused to give himself up quietly as a mob of people tried to restrain him reported Daily News.

The case has become known as the "Two hundred Ya Ba pill man goes in search of chicken."

The bizarre drama happened lunchtime at the Suwintawong branch of Tesco Lotus in Minburi, northern Bangkok. Jitana Pongdee, 37, a worker at a shop near KFC said that she was serving customers at 1pm when a bare chested man in jeans without shoes drove his Fino bike into the shopping area and stopped outside KFC.

"He looked very stoned," said Jitana. "There were tons of people about. As security guards came up to talk to him he got back on his bike and drove up to the counter inside the KFC. The staff there were completely flummoxed and rooted to the spot."

Jitana then said he got back on the bike and drove out of the KFC and went to the area of the store where there are banks and shoe shops. Security and members of the public tried to grab him but he started to fight. Eventually a whole mob of people got involved and dragged him outside and called police.

Nattawut Jortnork of Minburi police said that Kritsada Nenkrathok, 23, was taken to the police station. "He was delirious, " said Nattawut."He told us that he had received 200 Ya Ba pills to sell from a man called Khlong. He said he had decided to try them and ended up taking them all between midnight and midday."

He was taken to Nopparat Rachathani Hospital to treat his injuries that were inflicted in the fight and to check what was actually in his system. No charges have yet been laid in the matter as no one has suffered any loss.

The story featured on the Facebook page of Aum Kunyunut and resulted in a wave of comments.
