Police arrested two men on Tuesday, in connection with a series of thefts reported at gaming arcades and food outlets in Ang Mo Kio and Bishan.
The cases were reported between 8 and 19 Nov 2011. In most of the cases, the victims' bags were left on the floor or next to their seats while they were playing arcade games, purchasing food or engaged in other activities. Cash and valuables amounting to a total of about $280 were stolen.
Officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division, however, managed to establish the identities of the suspects and arrested them in the vicinity of Ang Mo Kio Ave 3 and 10.
A mobile phone, believed to have been stolen from one of the victims, was recovered from the suspects and seized as a case exhibit, said police in a statement on Tuesday.
