Are we waiting for Andrew Kuan to submit his forms before annoucing the closing date?

Or will there be a delay because the three wise men say that they need more time?

It is not quiet. Everything is still happening except that msm chose not to report those happenings. They only focus on Tony Tan, but he is now caught in a shameful situation with regard to exploiting the systems to help his son escaped NS and msm chose to remain silent about it.

Not sure if they are doing analysis on the damage from TT rumors. Unless they decide to make it plain and simple to just let TT be the only one to have the COE, else if they were to let one or two of the others have the cert, and if Andrew Kuan is rejected again, he will have comparison to make a fuss for justification. They must be mulling over what strong reasons to give for rejecting each of the other candidates without being seen as biased.

Easy lah....AK and TJS not eligible to begin with. TKL can say Income is cooperative not company.....TCB a bit more tricky....can pick bones with non-executive chairman title perhaps?

If they play this card a lot of us will remember.

I rather doubt there is anything very sinister. Its probably tied to the update of the electoral register they are doing now post GE-2011, which will be complete soon. In addition there are logistics issues to be sorted for an islandwide election.

I expect the presidential election to be announced following signs that they are ready. However SR Nathan is now confirmed to enjoy his last NDP, before new guy comes on board later this month. My feel is the PE will be on the last Saturday this month, 27 Aug 2011.

The popular thinking (and most shiok mentally) would be that PAP is now busy quelling internal rebellions and getting the troops in line for TT end of Aug. That might well be the case but aren't there enough resident PAP insiders to comment?

Prospective EP candidates are not keeping quiet.
After the 3 EP candidates last seen together at the good-bye railway tracks, there have been activities ongoing by some of them.
Of course that depends on how are whom are you supporting...
One was found in Orchard Road, one was in Indonesia, and who cares what TT is doing.

I believe the spirit of the law is to have someone who has had experience in 'managing' a company with 100M capital. Being a non-executive chairman, one can say TCB might not have managed the company at all. How much time was spent managing the company ? Or did he spend most of his time in his clinic instead ?

But if what they want is 'hands on' experience in managing a 100M company, and if they choose to disqualify TCB based on this reasoning, then they will have no reason to disqualify TKL.

This will be a laughing matter. Why they cannot announce that those submit the application is eligible or not. By right all citizen should be allow to be nominated if they don't have any police case. Let citizen decide who they want to vote.

Yes it would be interesting to see how this pans out......perhaps they conducting secret exit polls to see which one more popular 1st before decide on next course of action.
