The hotel raid went smoothly and several foreign women, believed to be prostitutes, were then taken away for questioning.

The suspects were taken away in two vans at around 1.30am. Anyone convicted of prostitution-related offences under the Women's Charter can be jailed up to five years and fined up to $10,000.

The women came from countries such as China, Vietnam and Thailand, and are believed to be involved in vice-related activities. Investigations are ongoing.
