LTK: Remove the levy to increase productivity

Cigarettes, Alcohol, Cars, Driving during Peak Periods & having domestic help are all discretionary purchases by middle to upper class Singaporeans who are more affluent. Lower income families benefit from the taxes/levies generated. In fact, the money is pumped back into infrastructural...

Lighthouse pastor had sex with PRC lady

From what I hear, he is not even an Elder from Lighthouse. But no one really cares as long as they can bash another group right.

PAP MPs jump to defend FTrash during debate

Even Elected- member of Parliament Low Thia Khiang is hesitant on increasing the foreign workers levy. He recognizes that market forces need to be the deciding factor in hiring and renumeration. What he does lack however is an understanding that every incentive programme needs funding. If the...

LATEST! POLICE: 3 boys bo charge, ounished oredy !

Like it or not, religiosity, as with race, are highly charged topics that need to be addressed with extra care. A just follow the law approach does not help matters nor does it promote a gracious and cohesive society.

Looking for Genuine PAP Supporters/Members to articulate views effectively

Re: Looking for Genuine PAP Supporters Member to articulate views effectively No, you are looking for PAP people to slip up and reveal sensitive information. You operate this forum like a dictator and you expect people to willingly join in in debate that will only be contorted. ----- Since...

Looking for Genuine PAP Supporters/Members to articulate views effectively

Re: Looking for Genuine PAP Supporters Member to articulate views effectively Very few will bother to take up such an insincere offer. In your framing of the above statements, you have effectively ridiculed the very people you hope to attract. If you feel the standard of debate in this forum...

Looking for Genuine PAP Supporters/Members to articulate views effectively

Re: Looking for Genuine PAP Supporters Member to articulate views effectively Much of the unhappiness is tied to ethnic-centric policies which are meant to be inclusive. The challenge of governance is to provide the balance for competing wants and insatiable desires. To claim that the above...

Conflicting Lessons from the Rony Tan Affiar

Yes, the middle ground is good. But that is not to say the government can be bullied into action or inaction. If push comes to shove, all religious leaders will be hauled up. Remember Operations Spectrum? So lets just try to be civil.

    Why "ex-monk" not arrested?

Does it really matter? What matters most is we learn to live harmoniously. If all of has can do that, we can move forward together.

Impose $3 for Comfort cab into RWS!!! ERP in sentosa next!

Thank You. A very sensible statement. The surcharge is an attempt to offset the risks of entering a location whereby the return are not guaranteed and without a surcharge, a taxi driver would not want to drive to sentosa.

Seatown - to compete with GIC?

Seatown will have the flexibility to be more aggressive in its portfolio distribution. It will also help reduce connotations of companies being bought up by Singapore.

    Does this make Sense!

Innovative = labour cost goes up, hire 2 workers instead of 3. Productive = make the 2 workers work longer hours Please also take a step back and not be fixated with the formula that minimum wage increases jobs for singaporeans.

    Does this make Sense!

Care to share what is so successful about the Australian model? Or did you just quote it because it has a higher minimum wage than the U.s. and thus it is a successful example of policy sustainability? Remember that Australia has ample minerals and commodities. And not to mention a work force...

    Does this make Sense!
