Car Respray in JB
If anyone knows of a good car respray workshop to recommend, please share. The name of the workshop and address will be most helpful.
Thank you.
Singapore has a Comprehensive Avoidance of Double Taxation Agreement with Malaysia (http://iras.gov.sg/irasHome/page.aspx?id=812) so I don't think you need to pay tax on rental returns from your Malaysia property in Singapore.
Re: Seeking objective opinions
I would consider the second option.
As a Malaysian, you are not subjected to the restrictions for foreigners when purchasing a property (min. RM500K, etc). There are plenty of houses under RM300K that are in the market that you can look at and consider.
If you...
Not into hunting but the rest certainly appeals to me. I've cycled and trekked around NZ's South Island and totally loved it. Was seriuosly planning to retire there but there is no effective "retirement visa" in place. Well, JB isn't that bad but I miss the temperate climate.
According to XE.COM, the SG-MYR mid-market exchange rate hit a 10-year high of 2.526 last night! It will be interesting to see how the trend move over the next few months.

If anything, this is going to drive up the HDB rental prices. This is good for current HDB flat owners who plan to rent out their flats and live in JB.

Re: JB Crimewatch
Do be careful in KL car parks. It seems assailants are targetting mostly women. Another report from The Star: http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2012/7/6/nation/11612541&sec=nation
The street market is open also in the morning. I think it is a daily affair. Some map details:
Pearl Restaurant @ Bukit Indah: 1°29'1.43"N, 103°38'51.05"E
Bukit Indah street market: 1°29'7.41"N, 103°38'49.66"E
SSC broadcast rate: 2.467. Probably can get slightly better rate for larger amounts, but yes, it seems they are cautious about offering anything higher.
Next time, ask your kid if his school grades are better than his friend's. If they are, tell him a Ferrari cannot get his friend better grades and he should be proud. If your kid's grades are worse, tell him he better buck up and not concern himself with what his friend's dad is driving.
:-)

This email message was forwarded to me about "Push-pocket" crime in KL (guess it can also happen in JB):
