That is the problem with human beings; we are never happy or satisfied. When we have too much work, we feel stressed/pressured. When we have no work, we feel depressed and bored.
The retirement age is set to go up to 64 later this year while the reemployment age will be raised to 69. Not many years to enjoy our retirement if we choose to stop work at 64, though most in the private sector will be out of work by our 50s.

A job provides a daily agenda and sense of contribution. Retirees who have not developed hobbies or outside interests may find themselves with too much unfilled time, which leads to boredom, anxiety and depression.
