Rich is relative. I go to Chiang Mai, Bali and the locals call me rich. Some friends called me rich after hearing a bought 1 property in JB even from a person who bought 2 in Singapore. I told them if I am rich I will buy the property in Singapore, why risk our safe heaven vs a foreign land...

In 2008, Tun said Iskandar will be filled by Singaporeans. Now he wonders who they will be.

The authorities should ask what is the purpose. Just for a tit for tat is dumb.

How can we compare. My father told me he walked to school bare footed. I had shoes and took the bus. I drive my kids to school. This is progress. I do not know how my grandchildren will go to school, may be teleported, may be virtually, may be beyond my imagination. One PM inspired me as...

Is there really so many Singaporeans going over. On weekday my trip to city, bukit indah and sutera I hardly see S plate. On weekend some. My neighbours have almost all stop going over due to jam at causeway. I remember seeing a chart it showed in 2013 per day on average over 200k malaysia...

Not sure why countries like to have tit for tat thinking. Singapore has a huge Malaysian workforce and a COE policy. Obviously to prevent a workaround of that COE policy, the gov now introduce the hike. It hits some of our friends here but also Singapore business which uses Malaysian transport...

Other than the concerns you folks mentioned. the home loan rates in Singapore are steadily moving upwards. Please correct me if I am wrong, the rentals in Singapore in general are stable hence the real income from renting will get a hit soon. This will further put price pressure as some will...

I think it is more common in Malaysia. Almost everyone I know in Malaysia have been rob, house break-in or car. Almost everyone i know in Singapore has none. Obviously I know more Singaporeans. We just have to be extra carefull. That said there are many nice people in Malaysia, I once left my...

I think VEP increase is to control the Malaysian car numbers. I was a few Malaysian cars in office carpark, 2 years back there was none. Also heard of stories of SPR hiring drivers so that they can drive in a malaysian car.

I think Singaporeans mix better in general but we have been isolated from the way the rest of Asian works that we insist our way is right. This was highlighted by the sex blogger Alex in one of his post. We go there we just have to be more sensitive as guest and do what the Romans do. Many...

The graying problem is everywhere. We can take logical or obvious solution or think out of the box. In Cameron Highlands there is a community of retired Japanese, they moved out not because of their gov but on their own initiative. Singapore declining birth rate are due to other factors and not...

Saw that industrial park on my way to Cherating. Was very surprise. Very big land cleared but do not seem to have much activity. There is also a Chinese University being build just south of KL. In the news seems that the chinese are going to Malaysia in a big way, however so far my trips into...

Do not mind being your neighbour. It will be ooouch if my kids had a $25 haircut. There is always the good, the bad and the ugly. The Chinese have just gone from 3rd world to 1st world in wealth hence it is a learning road for them. I remember my parent generation, pretty much felt it was all...

Politics is a games many people do not play well. As one forummer pointed out , LKY said they can just change the rules overnight. The PRC is better at understanding relationship and how money politics work so in the end all may end well for them.
