You are partially right in this aspect in that, it would well be the case in Perth, SA or some of the other laid back states. Try going over to Sydney and it'll be a shocker.

In most cases in Oz, for executive level positions, employers prefer people who have local experience so someone without it would be disadvantaged. Not sure if this applies to other sectors as well.

When I was in Sydney I used to work average 12 hours a day leh, sometimes even Saturdays. Whether hectic or not, I guess it depends on the job that you do. But I agree with you. Majority of the Aussies are in fact lazy.

Not suprising. These cities are not good places to stay in. The last I was in Detroit, I hated it. Miami would be a good choice. Cheap does not necessarily equate to good. New York for example is one of the costliest places in the US , however you might find apartments in Brooklyn affordable but...

This is going to do more harm than good. Things like exports are going to be expensive and the number of foreigners coming to Oz for uni education etc will drop. If these happen, Australia would be heading for another recession.

This may be the case these days but I remember sometime in the 80s when some of these guys who were studying in private institutions and taking examinations like LCCI, they were not able to get a deferment. The common reply used to be, come for reservist and on the day of your exam book out...
