Haha, nice video. The deck has to be water resistance so guess only hardwood. Was told balau, merbau or chengai are water resistance but costs is the factor. no less than 50rm per sq foot for chengai. Deck roughly 500sft.

Agreed. You can saved at least 20%. But your problems and headaches will be aggravated by 20% too, if not more. Sometimes, not worth it, especially your contractors start blaming each other and you go banging at each of them. This is bound to happen, there is no perfect fit for all the contractors.
