The MAC application is separate from my MM2H application so I don't see why you can't apply for your helper. In fact, I didn't mention MM2H or anything to the immigration officer there. However, because MAC is for "frequent travellers" to Malaysia via the two road links, your helper must...

My pleasure! Also, be sure to present the helper's work permit to the MY immigration officer when you present her passport everytime she crosses the border. This shows that the helper is not seeking employment in Malaysia bec the assumption is that she is already employed in Singapore.

Choyyy! But there will be two helpers in the house because my SIL family is also staying together with us and she has her helper too, so it won't be so bad lah.

    New developments to share

That rule is certainly hard to enforce and personally, I know my FT colleagues from South Asia are not giving up their big mansions in their home cities in exchange for a HDB here. I half suspect in this case, HDB works on tip-offs so discretion is key to make sure no one blows the whistle on them.

Have you considered getting MAC for her? Just to avoid multiple stamps in her passport. I just applied for my helper last weekend. I had to be present because I am her registered employer and they needed to see the helper's work permit and my passport to verify. Once that's done, we paid...

Malaysia My Second Home - mm2h

It is a lot of money for us too but my husband is making all kinds of plans to start a business etc and wanted some peace of mind on our status in the country, so that's why we decided this is the best course of action for us...

Malaysia My Second Home - mm2h

That is what I have heard but I don't know anyone who has actually experienced the "discount" so I am planning based on what is on their official website. Perhaps others on this board may provide better clarity.

Malaysia My Second Home - mm2h

Hi there, I am currently in the process of applying directly for MM2H for my family. I have not heard about change in deposit but going strictly by their website, the amount is still RM300K for below 50yrs old and RM150K for above 50yrs. http://www.mm2h.gov.my/pdf/mm2h2_2.pdf I am aiming...

Actually I have had the odd car or two that blocked my driveway in my old house but I believe it's always good to give people the benefit of the doubt :)

I "met" my new neighbour and must say it wasn't the best first impression. Him in his Hummer honking loudly because his driveway was blocked by our electrician's vehicle. My reno work has been in full swing for the past month and no one ever showed up at that house so the workmen grew into the...

Is anyone here (who's living n JB) a subscriber of Astro? I saw on their website they also have broadband services so I think their service is very similar to Starhub's - cable TV, home broadband and home phone. Is it reliable? I take lots of night calls so will need to have internet...

Completely agree with ginfreely. I did English Literature at A levels and in the class, I had classmates who did not come from English speaking household who scored pretty good grades. IMHO immersion is the best way to learn a language but really with TV, radio and the Internet, one can pick...
