did the management appoint anyone to install the meter? last time when i bought my 1st house the management gave me the contractor contact and I liase directly with the contractor. they came to install TNB meter within a few days. water has no issue since it is direct under management.

the way I look at it, it is the same as any other condo. it still need to comply with strata title act. the difference is that hotel operator has a huge block of the building and will be a member of the joint management body.

not too sure about service apartment but I think for strata act building the residence will need to form their management body. then the committee will choose to continue the management service. that will be another contract sign between residence committee and management body.

not sure about matex but usually the case is after 2 years when residence mangement body is formed, it will depends alot on the residence committee's commitment to maintain the same standard of service. and btw, committee are FOC job.

electricity issue, you need to apply to TNB(open an account sort of thing). then contractor will install TNB meter to your unit. only then you will get connected to electricity. as for water, since it is a strata building, you pay to the management.

luxury or not will depend very much on the management. embassy suite is what suppose to be a luxury service apartment. look at what it is now.

far far away is subjective. I mean bukit indah is only 15min drive from the city. permas is only 10min drive. if you don't drive, yes it will be inconvenience to travel, but if you drive, for extra 10-15min I don't find it inconvenience located. even add in the car,petrol,parking etc..cost...

most malaysian drive. what they do is drive to CIQ, park there there cross the border. Matex will only attract people who doesn't drive.

currently staying in apartment and I swear to myself I will not stay in another highrise for the rest of my life. after done some shopping or come back from a holiday usually need to make at least 2 trips to carry all the stuff back into the house.

perhaps we malaysian are more use to staying in landed. have extra land around the house to do some gardening will be even better.

singaporean and malaysian requirement are different I guess. Most malaysian prefer to stay in landed for retirement.
