Re: Advice on Security issues (eg Security Alarm, CCTV, steel gate, auto gate) Some times overdoing it paints a target for yourself. Security alarm is good but some may decide to just leave it unarmed after a while for convenience. Most importantly is to cultivate a good civil relationship...

I believe this is just a normal inspection checkpoint. Typically targeted not at SG cars but on JB motorcyclists and heavily modified Protons. They are not there to check vehicle speed as you have mentioned.

That's right, speed limit is 70kmh along the Coastal Highway which is ridiculous. Hmm, I think I better start watching my speed when I travel there as well...tend to go way faster than even 110kmh due to the emptiness.

    All about cars in Malaysia

Re: Opening Of The Eastern Dispersal Link (EDL) Loan rate can check with salesman when you inquire on the brand/model you desire. You can use this website (similar to SGcarmart) to work out your sums: http://www.autoworld.com.my/v2/tools/pcmi_calc.asp I bought a >10yrs old car so like SG...

That's right, the junction box is outside. Have to pull the cable in and mount a small terminal block outside the house and then pull it into the unit.

^^Huh...that's really a dichotomy. On the one hand, they said we should trust them to steer the ship we are on since they are the best of the best, meritocratically (in terms of salary, experience and education) yet on the other, we need to be independent and not rely on them all the time...

^^I agree. This is one trait of Singaporeans I am not fond of. The need to be spoon fed and how unappreciative they can be. But again, this is the fallout of the society we were brought up in.

Seems politics will always creep into this thread :D Which makes sense since it is the said policies/politics that made us take the plunge. However, for whatever complains I have against the government, I have also to be thankful to them for the environment that sheltered me when growing up and...

Sorry, bad habit to use acronyms....PC is polycarbonate. It is a tough plastic but can be brittle under the sun and will tend to haze and be susceptible to scratches unless high quality types are used which I doubt after seeing the construction and materials used. Extension is easy, doing it...

Haha but I am in MY plus I tend to avoid crowded places like such exhibitions. I will just buy a last season clearance model when the time is right over here, more convenient especially for warranty issues plus my car is too small to bring across anything larger than 32" LCD :D

This is actually very cool and innovative. The issue I have with the awning setups I see are that they are rather tacky looking and I doubt the PC used is durable although I am looking to extend the shelter over the porch so that my cars are protected from the elements. Still searching for a...

Onkyo makes pretty good stuff especially their Integra series in the past. Used to be quite siao about HT and Hifi but have mellowed with age. Now can accept listening to mp3 or even internet radio played through my iMac :D Still using my 10yr old Pioneer AV receiver and Energy Take 5.2 5.1...

I noticed that on Sat! I don't mind (although I am allergic to durians) but the worst part is those who have partake in the King of Fruits will share it with others when walking around, belching, and the smell within each outlet is intoxicating to say the least :D

Odd that the cashier did not just turn them away since the counter is for 8 items or less and they had 50 items? I suspect they can't read English or understand Malay. But got to hand it to them, if they are shopping in JB, they are rather canny! I brought some friends over to Puteri Harbour to...

Will surely be crowded as the walk-in ticket queues were long while I was there bringing some friends around. You can book online here, save you the hassle: http://www.tgv.com.my/#!/ Parking will also be an issue. Rather than park at Aeon, I suggest parking at the lots beside the mall and...
