Cream effect is semi permanent. Meaning to say if you don't apply after seeing the effect which you desire, the colour will change back to its original. Hope this helps.

I do not know about setting your thumbdrive as read-only, but I do know that your thumbdrive has been infected with either a virus or malware. The folder "fakerica" is the infection file/folder. Also, I do know of a way to retrieve your original files.
