You can have a hold on your contractor too. Don't pay them the full amount until they have cleared up all their mess. :) All the best in the renovation process. It is a steep learning curve.

Hey, welcome to Malaysia. That's how it works here, so unlike in SG. Many 'strange practices' here. It is just the beginning.

Is it still viable to stay in JB and work/study in SG?

Yours is a tricky situation. Your kids are still young and schooling issues with tuition, enrichment classes and ccas will set in and living in JB will be tough. Two of my JB neighbours with primary school children have moved back after trying out for a year or so. Having said that, living in...

    JB Food

Nowadays ,JB has a lot of empty restaurants. My family went to Yews Cafe at Perling. There was no one inside except the waitresses. It was a Sunday, a public holiday and lunch time. Anyway, we were the only diners there till we left. Food does not disappoint though a little pricey...

Iskandar Living is really not for those with school going children. It is ideally meant for those who have children who are independent liao (like in army or uni locally or overseas or working) and have flexi working hours or winding down from their full time work. Better to keep the sg home...

Traffic jams at both CIQs (Woodlands Causeway and Tuas 2nd Link)

This morning I travelled out at 4 plus and discovered what was causing the jam at the causeway. One lane was taken by trucks - the whole stretch of the causeway. The next lane was occupied by the blue buses - whole stretch of it. So the poor cars only had one lane to move along. Took almost 2...

Traffic jams at both CIQs (Woodlands Causeway and Tuas 2nd Link)

Yup. They took back their rented place. Still come back over the weekends if possible. I met a few of those too. They sold off their SG homes (for some reasons) and stay here. Maybe they are waiting to apply for a new one (needs a cooling period of 30 months, I think). There is one unit...

Traffic jams at both CIQs (Woodlands Causeway and Tuas 2nd Link)

The bad jams especially at Tuas are taking a toll on some people. Two of my neighbours have shifted back to SG as their kids cannot take it. One sleeps over at a relative's house at times. :(

I have a post paid plan with U Mobile and it is good. No problem for the last 2 years at all. They even credit me with 5 RM as a token of apppreciation for my patience while some service maintenance is going on and some enquiry feature is not available. But no problem with data usage at all.;)

That's cut-throat. Nasi goreng kampong is 5 RM in Habib or Osman at Nusa Bestari.

Agree with you. HH is over-rated by people who bought them but do not live in them. :)

Hope Marlborough is teaching values such as humility and empathy and not to forget Spelling and Grammar as well. :D
