A bus carrying Israeli tourists has exploded in Bulgaria, killing 6 people and wounding
more than 30.
The explosion occurred at an airport in the Black Sea city of Burgas, east Bulgaria on
Wednesday afternoon.
Bulgarian state television says the blast struck after the tourists boarded the bus in a
car park in the arrival terminal. The Israelis had just landed at the airport.
It says other tourists at the scene were caught up in the blast.
Burgas is a popular resort among Israelis and their government was reportedly asking
Bulgaria to improve security around the visitors.
The police have closed down the airport and are investigating what they suspect is a
terrorist attack.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu quickly denounced Iran in a statement on
Wednesday, blaming it for the explosion.
He referred to a bomb blast at a Jewish facility in Argentina on the same day 18 years
ago, for which Israel also suspects Iran.
Netanyahu added that a series of attacks on Israelis in the past months across the
globe are all connected to Iran. He said Israel needs to counterattack.
