Writing this as part of a dairy for me.

Went to visit AP alone on Thursday, 25th June 26. Took the 8.50am boat to AP and return at 4pm. Wanted to clear some leave and I had been working hard in June. So took leave on Thursday.

The number of people onboard was more than I expected on a Thursday. It’s a happy thing though, I don’t like to gamble when it is empty.

Change $500 worth of NN chips. Was contemplating to bring $1000 or $500 back at home and decided that $500 is the max I wanted to lose since my US stocks haven’t been doing well.

Once onboard and after I change my NN chips, I started with barcarrat. Since I am a small time player with bets between $10- $50. Back at home, I already strategise the way to wash away my NN chips. So my strategy was if I want to bet $20, I will play $40 on either player or banker and then $20 on the other side.

The first few hands of $40/$20 were mainly losses. Up and down but generally on a downward trend. Then after a while, someone gave up their seat at the bacarrat table. So I decided to sit down. Continue to put $40/$20. Then when the match about to start, someone put their chip and ask to change money. So while waiting, I saw the trend and increase my bet to $50/20. And I won. These happened a few times. After a while, I check my chips. And I was positive. Was pleasantly surprised. I was thinking maybe I was still down by $20 or $30.

After a few hours, I felt I was too lucky and was a bit paranoid liao. And plus, its starting to reach the end of the line of the dragon. Then it finally flip from banker to player. Check my phone and its 12.15pm. So I decided to head for lunch at the Jubilee lounge.

Food was chicken and fried fish. Was thirsty and poured a few cups of milk to drink. At the lounge, I was checking my NN chips. Left $90 NN chips. So means I wash $410 NN chips in 2 hours. Was quite happy with my strategy.

After lunch, I decided to slow down since I was up by $40. Went to the air con room near the stairs and went to watch ppl play. Not many super big players there. Previously, when I went with my wife, I saw an uncle bet $5k on bacarrat without blinking. These time round, highest was probably $1k.

Finally, decided that zzz monster had caught up with me. So went to level 7 observation deck to take a nap. Went back to casino at around 3pm.

Played blackjack this time round. Was playing $10 per hand. Managed to wash finished my NN chips and was up by $95. Was thinking if I win $100, I will stop. But alas, my luck ran out was left the table by net $20. Went to the Bacarrat table and played $30 and I won. So net $50.

Decided that I have enough of gambling liao. Went down and change my boat timing from 5.45pm to 4pm.

Ended the day with $50 wishing. And minus the boat fare.. net winning of $2. Then minus $18 parking. Negative $16.

My own reflection now that the trip has ended:

1) Between local land casino and boat, my take is that boat is good for small time gamblers like me who can play $10/$20 on the table. Because in MBS, table is minimum $50. Too high for me. And I don’t enjoy playing on electronic table in MBS even though min bet is $25 is cos there is no atmosphere compared to betting in a table. So my thoughts on those auntie or uncle who play $1k on the boat’s table. Why don’t u go MBS or RWS to play leh? Why waste 4/5hours travel to tanah merah ferry terminal. Unless u got ban la.

2) My way of washing chips works. The $40/20 trick. So I think next time, I should change $1000 instead. Then got 2 x $50 NN chips.

I might be going again on 3 July. The ship is docking at Harbourfront and it will be a cruise to nowhere from 10.50am to 8pm. Anyone wants to go?
