A 59‑year‑old man, M.S. Chandru Suryakanth, was sentenced to 12 weeks’ jail on June 22, 2026, after he exposed himself to a female police officer following his arrest for molesting a woman at a supermarket in Sembawang.

According to court documents, Chandru touched a woman’s thigh at about 11.45 pm on April 7, 2025 as she walked past him after paying for her groceries. When the woman shouted, he apologised and walked off, before being confronted by her husband. Police were called and arrested him at the scene.

After his arrest, Chandru was taken to Woodlands Police Divisional Headquarters for a body search. When a 24‑year‑old female officer asked him to remove a drawstring from his track pants, he instead pulled his pants down to his knees, exposing his genitals to her. He complied when another officer instructed him to pull them back up.

Chandru pleaded guilty to one count of sexual exposure and one charge of outrage of modesty. Deputy Public Prosecutor Andrew Chia sought a sentence of at least nine weeks up to three months and three weeks. Under Singapore law, intentionally exposing one’s genitals without consent can result in up to one year’s jail, a fine, or both, while outraging modesty carries penalties of up to three years’ jail, fines, caning, or a combination.

Ceca expose niah ... if its a dead snake then can plead wrong communication or misunderstanding mah .... unless he shows her a standing black stick then no choice become OM .... :whistling:

Perhaps Chandru showed the SG female police officer his "black baton" after she drew her police-issued baton in order to compare the length of both of them.

No caning? CECA excused?

It's beginning to feel like a privilege, reserved for Sinkies who served NS.

If women dowan people to touch the thighs, can wear Bermuda shorts up to the knees.
If wear hot pants, the thigh is public property. Like walls, floors, doors, pillars.

Dont be silly. Even if cover whole body, criminals will still do it. Even if the woman is scantily dressed, a gentleman will still stay away.
It is called self-control and that is why we are human, not beast.
Even worse, you are restricting what women can wear and cannot wear. Taking away their freedom to do what they want.
Reason why I still think Islam is so outdated, it is becoming more and more restrictive in freedom in this era.

Covering women will not make men more virtuous. The first trait I notice about my male clients from Muslim countries is that they never fail to ask me and my colleagues to introduce them to red light districts in S'pore. The forbidden fruit back home makes them long for it even more when they are overseas.
