In July 2021, French footballers Antoine Griezmann (white) and Ousmane Dembele (black) faced severe accusations of racism after a leaked video showed them mocking Asian hotel staff in Japan. The footage, filmed by Dembele, featured racist remarks about the technicians' appearances, their language and Japan's technological advancement, while Griezmann laughed along.
