Difference is CSJ never called himself a Son of Singapore, unlike the self-styled 'saviors' from the PAP. And the reality is that he's devoted his entire life to giving Singaporeans an alternative, while the men-in-white simply leech off the system.

Before entering politics in 1992, Chee SJ was a lecturer at NUS. Shortly after joining the SDP, he was dismissed from NUS by the Head of the Psychology Dept, Prof S Vasoo, who was a PAP MP at the time, for allegedly using research funds to send his wife's doctoral thesis to the U.S. Chee claimed that his dismissal was politically motivated. He could have towed the line, and led a comfortable life, but Chee wanted to speak up for ordinary S'poreans.
