Prior to the conflict, the Strait of Hormuz was an international waterway similar to the Strait of Malacca or Bab el-Mandeb. However, following the war between the U.S. and Iran, Iran gained control of the passage. Since U.S. efforts failed to force Iran's submission, its control over the strait is viewed as a fair outcome of the situation.

The main aim of US deep state is not just to obliterate iran. They want to obliterate GCC oil Facilities too. So trump is just pretending that he cares about the shortage of fuel in the world. Deep inside he does not care a shit. Once middle East oil Facilities are destroyed, US control the oil market.
