The Malaysian woman involved in the viral AirAsia cabin dispute has finally spoken out, saying she only took out her phone to record the China passenger because she feared the situation was escalating and wanted evidence to protect herself later.
According to her, the incident began before take-off on the Chongqing-to-Kuala Lumpur flight when the China woman was speaking loudly on her phone for a prolonged period, disturbing nearby passengers. Several people looked visibly uncomfortable, but no one said anything at first.
She said she eventually started filming discreetly, not to provoke the woman, but so she would have proof in case the passenger turned aggressive or if she needed to lodge an official complaint afterward. However, the China passenger noticed the recording and immediately became furious, accusing her of disrespect and then launching into a loud confrontation inside the cabin.
The woman stressed that she did not insult or attack the passenger first, and insisted she remained seated while trying to avoid direct conflict. Cabin crew members then rushed in to calm the shouting woman, but the argument continued, delaying the flight for more than an hour before the disruptive passenger was eventually escorted off the aircraft.
She also revealed that she chose to stay silent initially because the video had already gone viral and she did not want further online drama, but after seeing many false accusations and edited narratives circulating, she felt compelled to explain what really happened from her point of view.
The case has continued drawing heated reactions online, with many netizens siding with the Malaysian passenger and praising her for keeping video evidence during the tense encounter.
