Technology is most certainly a great help, but ULTIMATELY, it is the HUMAN that Command and HUMAN Operators to operate it.
AI and Tech is great but will come with limitations, thus it WILL still need Humans to create, operate and MAINTAIN such, thus the need to NEVER, EVER rely on tech alone. Tech was meant to alleviate and elevate Human lives.
What one Human can create, even a genius in EVERY FIELD of HUMAN ENDEAVOURS such as social, military, theology and economic, should such a Human even exists, so TOO CAN ANOTHER Human, as it each had been granted the gift of life and intelligence at BIRTH.....which only changes due to equally such environments - to evolve in peace, or regress where opportunities in life is not present....
The great USA ex PrezKennedy realized such, and knows that the days of Conventional Warfare are over, back even in the 60s. It WILL BE SPECIFICALLY AND HIGHLY TRAINED SPECIAL FORCES that will do the job than thousands of conscripts can do to achieve an aim or goal, or even for specific missions.
They will still need CONVENTIONAL MILITARY SUPPORT - such as critical logistics, air, land and sea support in the initial phases of a mission, and then the conventional forces to mop up to provide security and stability to achieve peace.

Just to show the difference between Tech/Autonomous tech and Humans... I would like to share this incident which the insignificant nobody me thought would take to the grave, amongst many more more......
A group of us, including a SPECFORCE specialist, were out to our usual bar, celebrating a successful 'training' mission. However, the bar tender at the counter knew who were were, and was insulting and provoking us throughout the evening. The SPECFORCE specialist just smiled, took it in his stride, and continued drinking, as such as was his high training, to never be provoked.
However, as the night went on, the bar tender did not stop, and eventually, he splashed a glass of beer at the SPECFORCE face, and drew an IMMEDIATE REACTION. The SPECFORCE specialist leapt from his chair with a single bound across the bar counter, grabbed the bar tender with one hand while his other hand grabbed a fruit knife as was going to plunge that knife into the bar tender's heart.
That bar tender probably had a death wish, simply looked into the SPECFORCE eyes and DARED him to plunge the knife, akin to the likes of Mr Syed Putra, but fortunately, we were equally nimble, and took 3 of us just to grab the SPCFORCE hand holding that knife from making that final plunge.
There were screams, shouts and cries and many fled from the bar. Fortunately, the SPECFORCE regained his composure and training, threw that knife away and walked out of the bar.
I offered to pay the bar manager with my credit card for the damages caused, as there were expensive wines smashed across the tables and behind the bar counter when the bar tender smashed his head against, but the bar manager REFUSED none of it. bowed his head to us, apologized to us and told us to leave quickly, as SPF will arrive soon. He knew the bad record of the bar tender, and had quietly advised him to stop his tirades during the night, but the bar tender refused.....
After a few weeks later, we returned to the same bar, despite my SPECFORCE friend misgivings, but I assured him to give the bar a chance, to know what had changed.
And it did. The bar manager was still around, and treated us a VIPs, 1st round of beers free on the house, and we all had a pleasant evening. That previous bar tender was no longer around, and had been replaced with a far better and friendly bar tender at the counter......
Point is - if my SPECFORCE friend was an AUTONOMOUS ROBOT, that situation would had been far far different.....
