Iran has completely blocked access to the Strait of Hormuz

A US Senator points out the absolute insanity of spending 2 billion dollars a day to reopen the Strait of Hormuz when it was already open before Trump started the war. They created a global crisis out of nothing
Americans voted for Trump and caused this global madness. Like Singapore, the US got the govt they voted for.

Iran is engaged in a defensive struggle to preserve its sovereignty and national security. In contrast, the US is pursuing a multifaceted objective that includes ensuring Iran's nuclear non-compliance, as agreed upon during the February 26, 2026 meeting in Oman, as well as effecting regime change by installing a puppet supreme leader, and maintaining control over the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz to safeguard economic and financial stability. Lastly, ensuring that all US bases in Gulf nations pose no security risks from the close proximity to Iran.

Strait of Hormuz Closure and Reopening (Flip-Flopping is faster than flipping a page)
Before April 6 ("No Our Problem")
Trump repeatedly stated that the U.S. "doesn't need" the Strait of Hormuz because it produces more domestic oil and gas than Russia or Saudi Arabia.
April 6 Press Conference: "A Top Priority"
Trump suddenly declared that "free traffic of oil and everything else" through the strait is now a "very big priority" and a core requirement of his 8 p.m. ET Tuesday deadline for Iran.

Americans voted for another senile President, while S'poreans voted for more years of paying "protection money" to the Mafia.

The straits of hormuz is still open but to friendly countries only.

Iran’s rapid transformation from a stone age state into a modern power has fundamentally shifted U.S. foreign policy. Initially focused on ensuring a nuclear-free Iran, the American agenda has since evolved toward seeking regime change and lately to have the Reopening Strait of Hormuz as top priority in the US request.

The only sensible thing Trump is doing now is to maintain control over the vital Strait of Hormuz to safeguard economic and financial stability for the rest of the world.
