Due to the actions of one F-15C crew, the rescue operation suffered a series of losses, including several planes, some were severely damaged, as well as harm to the service members involved. This contrasts with President Trump's brag about that the rescue operation proceeded smoothly.
Even if the IRGC captures the crew, they will not release a public statement on the matter, as this would allow more US rescue teams to become involved in the operation.

US special forces is something else

This rescue operation, the US loss until pant dropped, two helicopters were struck by villager volunteers using a combination of rifles(unknown type), and not by IRGC forces. Additionally, two transport planes were also downed. There are no official reports on the number of US rescue personnel who were killed or taken captive. From the photo(evident) released by IRGC, the wreckage is severely damaged(blown up into many debris) beyond recognition except the largest pieces.

I counted there are almost 30X of various type of EW, early waring plane(E-3), stealth and normal fighter jets, refueling & transport plane, rescue & attack helicopters, not counted Reaper drones for the "set-up" rescue op. Trump can brags about the success of the op.

Those slower moving aircrafts flies at HIGHER altitudes and would not be seen by the naked eyes. It would need sophisticated radar systems, which the terrorist IRGC have little left, nor the trained crews to handle such systems as they are either dead by now hidden in blown up bunkers or struggling for air, and thus such aircrafts are not vulnerable to small arms fire even manpad weapons.

Rescue operations are risky, but USA would leave no American soldier behind. They have 200+yrs of warfare experience since 1776 and had never lost a war. So to sum up: anti-aircraft equipment that supposedly didn't exist shot down an F-15 (and, apparently, an A-10 Warthog the same day). A seriously wounded man climbed a 2.1km mountain. The US seized an airfield 200 miles inside a country it's at war with, next to one of its most strategic nuclear sites, and deployed hundreds of troops all apparently unimpeded. Lost two planes to "sand" and destroyed their own helicopters. Videos show heavy clashes, missiles raining down - but not a single person got "even wounded". And the man at the center of it all? Nobody knows who he is, completely anonymous, zero pictures, but Trump says he is "SAFE and SOUND." And so is the rescued A-10 Warthog pilot, who also remains anonymous.

Well summed up. As long as every American soldier made it back alive it’s a Hollywood fairytale ending. Cost and loss of equipment is nothing to the great USA they can afford to use million dollars tomahawk against cheap drones.
Biden left all the equipment for Taliban. What’s costs to them? It’s nothing.
US went deep into Iran territory kicked their butts and rescued their men. It’s the stuff of chuck norris movies. The goodwill garnered is fantastic on the other hand Iran regime got a big slap to the face.
