Half the carriers are in the dockyard for maintenance. Upgrades.Even if it’s true the US Navy has got another 10 carriers as back up. Half of those on combat ready standby ready to be deployed. Each with its own carrier strike group. Let that sink in.
They are coming up with lasers to put out the missiles and drones. I believe its fitted on some USN vessels. Not sure how effective these are.In the past, aircraft carriers were considered invincible because the range of anti-ship missiles was generally shorter than the carrier's operational range. Additionally, the onboard anti-missile defense systems, along with those on accompanying warships, were highly effective at protecting the carrier from slower missiles attempting to strike it.
Today, this scenario no longer holds true, as modern anti-ship missiles possess extended ranges capable of targeting carriers from their operational zones. These missiles are equipped with hypersonic speeds, integrated AI, and advanced anti-missile evasion tactics.
