[Sg] - Stomp article leaves Toa Payoh yong tau foo stall hawker 'deeply hurt' and crying

Most of the Yong Tao Fu stalls I patronised, over the years, have never exceeded $7 and I often chose curry gravy. The seller should list down the price of each item, picked by the writer, to clear everyone's doubt. Otherwsie, I still think $9.20 Yong Tao Fu in the neighbourhood is on the steep side. I cannot say the same if you dine Marina bay sand..etc.

Fucking retards. Always go after the people trying to make a living instead those responsible for the high cost of living aka PAP.

Cherlynn Ng Stomp lanjiao writer says hawker tong tau foo expensive, her writing like from low SES hdb one room flat girl trying to act high class. Must be mentally unstable going into IMH soon

The only true high class food writers are Evan Mua of Indulgentism, and of course our very own Claire who runs The Food Dossier. Not Leslie Tay, not Hedy Khoo and certainly not Seth "Shit" Lui or Miss Tam Chiak.
Who is Miss Tam Chiak

Food critics are like influencers who wish to monetise their reviews.

KF Seetoh mentioned many times that our hawkers are suffering from high rental and cost of ingredients. They also slog for long hours behind the stove and profits aren't what they used to be.

It helps to have rich parents whatever you do for a living. I know of many retiring specialists who leave their clinics at Mount E or Gleneagles to their offspring who are also specialists. Imagine the operating costs for doctors who go into private practice having to rent clinic space in central locations in SG.

Ownself choose 12 items, ownself kpkp expensive lolololololol...
Working adults expect an annual increment in salary, but expect hawkers not to increase their prices. The diner expects the 12 items to cost the same as they did 2-3 years ago.

It’s ok for husband and wife, father and son one whole big family to work in the same healthcare group and be promoted. Other industries will long screamed nepotism and cronyism.

Other way talented people in culinary? They just run cafes or eateries and try to off set higher rental and food supplies costs.

Go buy yong tau foo at NTUC already 50 cents per piece. 12 pieces is $6 add $1 for bee Hoon to cook at home haven’t include knorr chicken stock pricing. The food critic didn’t cook dare to complain YTF too expensive.

Nepotism is expected in family businesses.

If rental takes 15% of the hawker's earnings, he may still offer an acceptable portion for the price paid. If rent is 50% of his takings, a hawker will hike his prices and resort to tinier portions to earn a decent profit at the end of the month.
