I don’t like China but I don’t believe this.
Simply because PIL SSTeo told investors that Hainan free port will compete with Singapore as TS hub for east Asia

Hainanese women are not known for being pretty. Most of the village look, with flattened round face, skinny body flat chests etc. No one goes to Hainan to Piak local women except in the past Sinkie Hainanese pioneer gen (most should be dead by now) go there in from 80s to get 2nd wife keep them in villlage Piak Piak when visiting their hometown. Most of these uncles are from Wenchang follow by Haikou.

Ah Wong daddy might have been one of these uncles.

And as I understood Sanya was not the best choice for getting to know Chinese culture, firstly these are mountains of garbage that the Chinese leave in the middle of pedestrian roads, which by the way is not surprising because it is very difficult to find a trash can here, secondly these are beaches that close almost immediately as soon as a slight breeze comes or not high waves come, thirdly this is the attitude of local Chinese towards foreigners, their disdain and attempt to foist off some crap on the road at an exorbitant price, local old men repeatedly pestered me, drove up on their mopeds and shouted at me, and when I wanted to give one of them a translator he just drove away (I do not speak Chinese), at the same time all Chinese tourists (not locals) are quite polite and were always ready to help me

These malls were thriving and well-established before the property market downturn and the relocation of industrial factories to neighboring countries in 2021.
