Actually it is not just the PAP. In the US its the same. You need to fit in to be heard. That is why no matter who you vote for, you end up getting John Mccain, the war monger.
 
No wonder every interview I attended, I got rejected. I don't fit into their culture of playing safe and they found the right candidates who are mostly foreign "talents".
