July 14, 2023 - HPL announces Ong Beng Seng has been arrested. In Singapore, no one that big gets arrested without almost a guarantee thy will be found guilty.
Aug 2023 - Just one month later, Shan sells his Astrid Park house for a very high price of $88 million. Shan had it on the market since Nov 2021 according to some reports. But no sale until Aug. 2023. So, within one month of OBS getting arrested, his GCB sold for a high price of $88 million after being on the market for almost 2 years.
Aug 15, 2025 - OBS fined $30,000, pocket change for a billionaire like him. AN extremely lenient sentence by any measure. The newspaper reported that he was given judicial mercy, how many court cases you know where the defendant received judicial mercy? I don't know of any. They cited his medical condition. Again I don't know who received a very light sentence because of medical conditions.

This refers to the discretionary power that Singapore's courts have to impose a sentence that is more lenient than what the circumstances of an offence would otherwise warrant, in recognition of exceptional mitigating circumstances.
Ong had incurable medical conditions, including advanced multiple myeloma. Prison would expose Ong to potential infections that could kill him, said the defence.
The prosecution did not object to judicial mercy being exercised and asked for the maximum fine to be imposed instead."
SO, the question is "Who really bought Shan's house?" Coincidence or not?
