An alleged murder occurred at Capri by Fraser, China Square, on Oct. 24.

In a press release by the Singapore Police Force (SPF), police confirmed that at around 7:40am on Friday, a 41-year-old man went to Bukit Merah East Neighbourhood Police Centre to inform officers that he had killed his wife.

Police were then dispatched to the hotel and found a 38-year-old woman lying motionless in a hotel room.

She was subsequently pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene.

The man has been arrested and will be charged in court on Oct. 25 with murder under Section 302 (1) of the Penal Code 1871.

Police investigations are ongoing.

Mothership understands that the deceased and the suspect are believed to be a married couple from Indonesia.

According to Lianhe Zaobao, preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased had visible external injuries to her body and was believed to have been stabbed with a weapon.

When Mothership visited the scene at around 11am, it appeared to be business as usual at the hotel.

Guests were seen checking in and out.

Some tourists said they had noticed police officers but were unaware of what had happened, adding that they had not heard or noticed any commotion.

Police cars were seen at the car park.

Mothership has reached out to Frasers Hospitality for further comment.
