if choose to marry malai then child's race is malai and should learn malai ... why suddenly learn chinese when totally alien to this language and culture? like that child's 2nd language grades will be very jialat and he under big stress learning a foreign tongue. revert back malai lah.

His mother must teach him Mandarin at home. It is advantageous to be fluent in the mother tongue of the majority of S'poreans, not to mention China's growing influence globally being another excellent reason to do so.

I will be the last bastion against Chinese overlordship in malay archipelago. Its winner Takes all. If Indonesia and Thailand can force Chinese to speak only local lingo, i cannot see why it cannot be done in malay islands and peninsular.
