The “No Kings” protest is set to begin at noon on Oct. 18. Demonstrators will gather on Boston Common, near Beacon and Charles streets, to voice their opposition to a range of actions being taken by the Trump administration. The event is scheduled to last until 3 p.m.

In a press release, organizers listed a few of their key concerns: that ICE’s “secret police” are “profiling, threatening, and disappearing people,” that the Trump administration is defying the courts, that voters are being disenfranchised through “gerrymandering and voter suppression,” that officials are “ignoring” mass shootings, and that President Trump’s “billionaire allies” are being enriched at the expense of everyday Americans.

The major groups organizing the protest are the ACLU of Massachusetts, Indivisible Mass Coalition, and Mass 50501. Other “No Kings” events will be held on Oct. 18 in communities across Massachusetts and the country.

Wu was a featured speaker at a massive protest with similar themes in April. She spoke to thousands who marched from the Common to City Hall Plaza, decrying the Trump administration and Elon Musk.

This year, as she cruised to a second term, Wu effectively positioned herself as an outspoken opponent of Trump and his allies. Recently, she rebuked Attorney General Pam Bondi in a high profile debate over Boston’s “sanctuary” laws. The Trump administration responded by suing the city, setting the stage for a potentially elongated legal fight.
