The Certificate of Entitlement (COE) is a crucial factor in determining the cost of owning a car in S'pore. It amuses me that many disgruntled S'poreans who cannot afford a car often declare that they wish to see COE premiums continuously increasing. They do not realise that when COE prices rise, there is a ripple effect on the whole economy, which affects everybody, and not merely car owners.

Only stupid daft Sinkies pay for the right to own a car for 10 years…

Sinkies should be allowed to own cars. This should be a privilege for foreigners who are here to create good jobs for them.

If 65% love to vote for the PAP-Gov to farked them in the arse everyday, nothing much to complain about LOL.

It is difficult to put a price on convenience, safety and comfort for the car owner's loved ones. It all boils down to affordability; if one has the budget to buy and maintain a car, then I don't see the reason why he has to forego the opportunity to improve his family's quality of life.

Owing to the limited land and roads in S'pore, car ownership should only be allotted to those who are able to afford it.
The same applies to buyers of landed homes here.
