Our Govt attributes the declining standards of English competency to the widespread use of Singlish. Even though English is considered a global language, most S'poreans like you, appear to have command of less than 35% of the words in the lexicon. Adding Singlish into the mix serves only to confuse and hinder the learning of Standard English like it has done to you. Proper written and spoken English instantly defines us as highly educated people whose views and opinions are taken more seriously; that is hardly "cosplay" by any stretch of the imagination.

Ok, Grammar Police.
All things being equal, we are far more likely to advance in our careers if we utter and write grammatically correct English without incorporating elements of Chinese and Malay into our speech or writing. I just want to be the best possible version of myself, and help others do so as well. Is there something wrong in that?
