A govt that is too afraid to have a check and balance on its power cannot be an honest one. If our ruling party wants to hold absolute power, knowing that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely, then it is aiming for absolute corruption. Fixing up the opposition seems to be a favourite tactic of the PAP, which gives the impression that they want "ownself check ownself" to be entrenched in SG's system of governance in order to enrich themselves.

As the Elections Dept is not an independent body, but forms part of the executive branch under the Prime Minister, it enables the incumbent party to decide electoral boundaries, based on poll results in the previous election. Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Only a true non corrupted and capable gov will dare to have a face 2 face Q&A session with the people, not the oppies in parliament.

Any dispute and disagreement with any policies implemented, can be put on table to leebate. Not a monologue.

You put me in charge as the pm, you will get to see this sort of sessions.
Becos I will only plan things that make sense.

I will be able to provide answers with logics, to the point that noone can argue anymore and have to accept it.

In my perspective, he was trying to say
Allow the gov to match fix first during erection, after that we will not corrupt, or else you will be in deep trouble.

Come to think of it. Erections only happen once every 5 years. So those civil serpents who work in this department also work only once in 5 years. And then the other 4 years they will be sitting around in office doing nothing. Fuck these JLBs.
