So high salary, so much bonuses, so many benefits and holidays .... this type of "Slave" which daft sinkie buay gian ?? This type of "slaves" all are gold plated one .... :whistling:
 
I find it absurd that the AG’s Office considers free parking in our schools and JCs synonymous with supplying hidden perks and entitlements to staff. This move by MOE in the name of a “clean wage” practice in 2018 is an insult to all employees - especially dedicated teachers - of our educational institutions.

The Public Service Division’s directive that employees’ salaries contain no hidden benefits has to cut both ways. This means that teachers, must no longer be encumbered with non-teaching duties and assignments outside school hours since MOE must not benefit from staff working beyond their teaching obligations and stipulated hours. If such responsibilities are deemed necessary, our teachers must be paid overtime or be granted off-in-lieu.

It is common knowledge that teachers often bring work home to grade, carry out research and plan for the following day’s lessons, as well as respond to telephone calls, mobile phone messages or emails from parents. Does the Education Ministry compensate teachers for the phone and Internet charges incurred while working at home? We know the answer to that.

Teachers for the longest time have been considered moonlighters because of the misperception that teaching is a half day job. Just because a teacher leaves school at 1pm does not mean he has nothing to do afterwards. Incessant marking, and preparation for the week's remaining lessons require time and effort. The fucker who mischaracterised a teacher's life was Teo cheebai. When he became minister of ed, he introduced 100 hours of mandatory training amongst many other soul sapping policies because he believed teachers had too much time on their hands. Many were thought to be engaged in sidelines such as insurance and housing. He got rid of those on the pension scheme by hastening their retirement, and killed the joy and purpose of teaching. The devil makes work for idle thumbs, and this cho boh lan is testimony to that

The problem with most bosses is that they have not walked the ground, yet make decisions that affect those at the lower levels immensely. People in authority have a lot of responsibilities, but little actual work. As such, they constantly think of impractical new initiatives just to show that they are "working" and "value-adding".
