But they have this stupid rule that, at the end of every term there must be a surplus overall in govt budget. Govt insist that, they say it's a law and it is a constitution. So they went out to increase GST. The surplus went up to S$6.4billion year 2024.
But in the course of implementing GST, costs of living went up. Your rental also went up. Property tax went up. Coe went up. All went north. In the end, costs of noodle went up.
That hurt the people a lot. The hurt will be reflected in the ballot box.
Instead of trying to cut costs, they still approve expensive useless project. They still give out good bonuses. They gave out GST voucher to show that they care, but it's too late.
