Serious Jiuhu HDBs look like complete shit under Retarded Bumi government unlike the $$$million HDB in SG!

That's the beauty of jiuhu land: you don't need to live in an overpriced 'subsidized' public housing.

Most live in condos and landed property.
 
Those old flats probably cost RM60k per unit. Or less.
There is currently plan to redevelop these but previous laws need 100 % acceptance.
New law just introduce need 80% acceptance.

That is the case with another 3rd world ASEAN country, the Philippines where several of my subordinates live in nice landed homes which they are able to buy from the salaries they earn from working in S'pore.

No one stop you from staying there .... instead of comparing, I have friend who stayed in Thailand while renting out his apartment in Singapore. He can only sustain his life style with this arrangement. He has no complain because he knew this is the best option.

Likewise, your subordinates makes his decision to work in Singapore and enjoying his fruits at the Philippines. However, he has to face all the nonsense of working abroad, home sickness etc. It is all about choices and sacrifices.

I am thankful that I was born in the 1970s, and upgraded out of my HDB home by the early 2000s. It is now impossible for a couple to upgrade to a condo by the age of 30 without help from their parents.
