Good candidate. He shouldn't lose his deposit.

Very electable candidate despite his youth. He sounds logical and not full of vendetta like Han Hui Hui type.

Wasted if he cannot have enough resources to organise a Rally. He speaks well and should be given a chance to be heard publicly at a political election rally.

Daryl is very electable instead of PAP Melvin. Problem is Radin Mas is another boomer dominated constituency....wouldn't have many young swing voters

Ge15, Han Hui hui score decently as an independent against RP ( I think the same guy) in Radin mas.

Many people attribute this to race but the way I see far from it. HHH was quite prominent with all the cpf protests where as RP sent out an unknown 'Indian' fellow. Opposition votes was split something like 12 vs 10%.

Radin Mas Single Member Constituency (SMC) will see a fresh new face stepping into the political arena — 28-year-old Darryl Lo Kar Keong, who has declared his intent to run as an independent candidate in the upcoming General Election (GE).

Lo first announced his candidacy on 17 April via an Instagram post, positioning himself as a non-partisan voice for residents.

While he agrees that Singapore has “flourished under strong leadership” and he respects the “government’s role in shaping our nation”, he believes that “more diverse voices in Parliament can lead to better discussions and policies.”

Mr Lo wishes to bring fresh perspectives that are free from party lines, and to ultimately be the voice for the residents of Radin Mas SMC.

In a three-part TikTok series uploaded on 21 April, Mr Lo introduced himself to voters with a candid and personal look at his journey.

Having grown up in an HDB flat in Radin Mas, he shared how his roots in the estate inspired his decision to step forward now.

While pursuing his law degree, Mr Lo founded an events management startup, which he said taught him crucial real-world skills like budgeting, resourcefulness, and accountability.

To him, these are “skills that are relevant to running a town council efficiently”.

After graduation, he entered the tech sector, where he worked in legal risk, operations, and compliance.

Believes serving as an MP is ‘full-time responsibility’​

In the final TikTok video of his series, Lo took a firm stand on the role of an MP, declaring that it should be treated as a “full-time responsibility”.

Citing Prime Minister Lawrence Wong’s comments that it’s “pragmatic” for MPs to hold full-time jobs outside of politics, Lo posed a bold question: “Should this even be the norm?”

He argued that public service is “not a side hustle”, and constituents deserve a representative who is fully committed.

“To advocate for real change, an MP must be fully present,” he said. “Residents of Radin Mas deserve more than just a weekly walkabout.”

He questioned, “Would you rather have a part-time MP or a full-time one who puts people first?”

Mr Lo wrapped up his statement with a pledge: if elected, he will dedicate himself fully to the residents of Radin Mas.

“Because MPs are paid with your taxes, and you should expect full-time service in return,” he said.
