Lockheed Martin, a Maryland-based defense giant, has highlighted that its F-35 Joint Strike Fighters don’t have any discreet ‘kill switch’ that the U.S. government could use to disable fighter jets supplied to other countries.

Some recent European media reports suggested the presence of such ‘kill switch’ that Washington could use to weaken another country’s F-35 fighter’s power.

However, reports revealed that if the U.S. firm cuts off support to the jets and stops supplying the parts and software needed for the maintenance of the fighter jets, Washington can achieve the same results. Although, it will take some time.

Last week, Belgian Chief of Defense Gen. Frederik Vansina underlined that the F-35 is not a remote-controlled aircraft.

Software needs updating on a very regular basis. Not updated, all the fancy electronics doesn't work and it becomes an F-4 Phantom.

One critical part not supplied, plane will be grounded, or if flown regardless, no warranty when it crashes.

Lastly, one satellite command from Pentagon and aircraft go on a limp-mode. Can fly only up to 140knots and ceiling of 1000ft + aferburner disabled.

My subordinates used to say that I should have a degree in many things.
So funny.
