also sang by patriots in the north during the revolutionary war, christian fundamentalists and republican (conservatives) in the north. (northern) union troops during the civil war also sang it during marches. it was not confined to the south. in fact, it was the most important song of the union army during the civil war.

Communications. Now we have better communications with our constituents, to communicate to them how there is no choice and it is for their own good. No more complains about public transport, xenophobia at all now. The people have accepted our good intentions and acknowledge the good work we have done for singaporeans.
