It is very true what you have said. Air and fuel are burnt in its proper stoichiometric ratio to produce thrust. At the moment this applies to all airplane engines and to claim otherwise is quite foolish.
In some of the airlines, Korea and to a lesser extent the Thais there is a very strict and rigid hierarchy in the cockpit. The authority gradient is very steep and the copilots and junior Captains would very rarely dare voice out their concerns when the Commander does a course of action or makes...
Almost all the ex air force pilots make the grade when they move on from military to commercial flying. Some find the transition easier than others and many are doing well as instructors and management pilots. Their military flying whether fighters or transport, develops their handling skills...
Yes ESND....you are basically correct. The younger pilots in SIA are a mix of former SAF pilots, ab initios and inexplicably foreigners ( but thankfully not so many).
Many of the ex Airforce pilots move into commercial flying these days ....you see them in SIA, Scoot and even more so in...

Flight operation's manuals were mainly American because of the all Boeing fleet but policies were greatly influenced by BA.
You make lots of posts but many of them are without knowledge. Read the highlighted part of the excerpt of the report.
'''The other three affected flights are a Tiger Air flight from Hong Kong with 104 passengers, a SIA flight from Brisbane with 289 passengers and a SilkAir flight from...
Re: SIA retrenches 12% of pilots, Chinese airlines hire them for US$25k a month, huat
To get to Australia for $200 is a good deal of course but be wary of certain budget airlines. The budget should stop at the cockpit door. Bringing the 'budget' into the cockpit would mean compromising on...

Well said my friend...well said. Experience can save lives, planes and money during such emergencies....experience can also save costs for the airline by efficient operations during the course of normal...
