First thing open a bank account , then one/two weeks later when you get the bank letter / welcome pack use cover letter as proof of residence for drivers license.Thats what worked for me, bring you passport & singapore license .
Once you get drivers license , ID wise things...

I did a service job in the first few weeks too. Then moved back into professional role that i was doing in singapore. Min wage is good , you can lead a very nice life in spite of your work / position etc.
