Seems like it has not happened yet. My mom has applied for MACS and since then we were never questioned again.
Yes, they mean a continuous 3 weeks without exiting.
I don't think it is illegal to visit JB every day but it seems to me it is illegal to use the short-term visa free period to...
Forgot to mention that the HQ officer advised us (if we are not applying for any visa) that the new law now requires us to reside in SG for a week (at least 6 days) for every 3 weeks in JB.
Thanks for the replies...
I made a trip to the Immigration HQ at Kempas yesterday to seek clarification. The counter officer said that there is no long term visa/pass schemes available for Singaporeans like myself and my mom who just own property in JB. It is either I have to marry a...
Hi,
For those of you (Singaporeans) who own a property in JB, live there, and commute to SG every work day: Do you need to apply for long term social visit pass? If so, what are the conditions required? I checked the immigration site www.imi.gov.my but they do not reveal the eligibility and...
I did not ask, but from what I know passport need at least 2 years of validity.
Also to note that for the photocopy of S&P, just the cover page will do. ;)
I've just applied for MACS this morning.
Documents needed (if have property in JB) are:
1) Original and photocopy of S&P
2) Original and photocopy of passport
3) Passport-size photograph
If you forgot to photocopy, the service is available at the info counter, cost is RM2 per page.
I intend to pay off the loan ASAP rather than to drag for long term. My ringgit-based loan is on floating rate, and with the upcoming rate hike by Fed that will affect all floating rates worldwide, I reckon that this is a safer move as the rate hike might increase faster than the ringgit can...
I took a RM denominated mortgage in 2012 when the rate was 2.45. At today's rate, I estimated I saved over SGD20k and I've not even started paying my installment!
Malaysia Boleh! Dr M Boleh! :D
Re: Can I buy a Malaysian car then get a driver to drive my car with my family to sin
How do we look for a driver in JB? Are there drivers advertising their services or we have to put up an ad to look for one?
Hi, for developers offering DIBS for new projects launched before 2014: Say if the bank offers me a 20 year loan and the project takes 3 years to complete. During the 3 years of construction, the developer only pays the interest on the funds disbursed but I don't have to pay anything. So does...
Re: What needs to do to open a bank account in Malaysia.
I did my remittance through pay2home.com. $9 transaction fee too plus no maximum transfer limit. If you transfer SGD15k or more, they can even quote you a better rate.
