I served as a Signaller in 35 SCE, HQ Company, from 2005 to 2006. The fact remains that the Signal Formation is distinct in its exclusion of Malays, as are certain other units, such as 39 SCE, CBRE Defence Group, the Armour Formation, Reconnaissance units and Military Intelligence amongst others. This is anecdotal evidence and also based on personal experience and observation within the institution – as most Singaporean men can attest to. The token Malays are a consolation, an exercise in Public Relations. Only a fool would think otherwise.

dont think too much. there is no malays in signal, 39sce etc simply because there is no budget/space for malay cookhouse and separate cooking/eating utensils. do malays mind sharing the non-muslim food and utensils.

No matter how well these m&ds are treated and due to the fact that chinese always need to bend over backwards to accomdate their dumb religion and if they don't all of a sudden the chinese are the racists. Let me ask you this. You go buy Nasi Padang, some minah ahead of you orders a fish, some veggies, and rice, and she pays $3.50. Your turn comes, you order the same thing, and the bugger charges you $6.00. Why does this happen? Because s/he can get away with it. You want to give them more access to sensitive stuff? Place the tactical advantage in their hands?

Having said this, I have a couple of malays friends from old kampong days. They are not the same easy-go-lucky blokes as they were when we were younger. They're more to themselves nowadays. I do not know whether it is caused by the HDB environment or religion or their hot minah gfs have become fat.

Of course it'd be nice if we were all equals. But that time has not yet come. Malays as a minority racial group are not treated badly, they have to reciprocate.

what he wrote may not be truth but logically it is a hassle to provide halal food there. from what i heard, 39sce is not even battlion strength, it two company worth only and at any time only one company strength is avaliable. i heard this from someone who serve NSF there more than 10yrs ago so i not sure got change or not.

Standing outside looking in, I'd say that the yellow skin is playing (too) fair, when no one else does. A good example will be the early Chinese in California's gold rush and USA railroad building days. They did the hardest, most dangerous work, and were paid the least. They never complained (is this an inherent trait? To keep mum) but just trolled on and on. Well, it's paid off, but the sacrifice was tremendous.

Yes chinese did the most dangerous work but aren't even considered americans. I'm quite sick of this fucking nonsense going around.
