A man has alleged that he was beaten up by national footballer Khairul Amri.
According to a report in The Straits Times, a 24-year-old bar operations supervisor, Ahmad Shah, has lodged a police report on Thursday for an alleged assault by the footballer.
Shah claims that he has been dating Amri's 28-year-old wife, Eva Roslan, meeting her for movies and coffee once or twice a week since early May.
Shah says that he met a group of eight people at the void deck of his flat at Woodlands St. 31, at 2.30am on Thursday.
The group included Amri, his younger brother, Eva's father and brother, one other man and three women. Eva's father had accused Shah of "messing up my family" and attacked him together with the other men. They punched and kicked him for five minutes resulting in bruises on his face, neck and chest.
Shah says that Amri stood on crutches and urged the men on from a distance.
Khairul Amri is said to be one of the most talented footballers in Singapore. He belongs to the S-League Tampines Rovers team and is currently nursing a torn ligament.
Amri's teammates and coaches found the allegations hard to believe as they know him as a nice guy who rarely loses his temper, if ever.
