Voters may view this differently. The emphasis is always on how educated and successful one is in his career before politics.

The sad part is, with all the education the MIW has, plus successful careers, they turn out to be 100% blindly obedient and compliant once wear white. How often have we heard of MPs really fighting for their voters? So much so that when Lily Neo 'swayed' a little, we all clap, clap and clap. How many LNs do we have?

Speaking up for the people is one thing. Understanding the economy, decision making, understanding the consequences etc is a separate matter altogether. I humbly opine at least "A" levels is needed to meet certain basic requirements.

My take on Ramseth is that he doesn't like people to mess about with him, even if it's inadvertent or unintentional.
Don't know him personally, but based on years of interaction on forums, he seems like the kind of guy who if a hawker pisses him off, he will just walk to the next stall, even if he has been eating at the old stall for years and the food is better.

Even so, I think he'll be back. :o

a he is a knowledgeable chap on most topics;
b once awhile, he throws smoke bombs;
c he can be helpful and kind if he wants to;
d he is very proud of himself - knowledge and looks;
e he is very witty, skin also very thick - just what is needed to be a politician;
f he is more intelligent than GMS !!!

It's very hard to be less intelligent than GMS. Most of them are in IMH.

That said, yeah, Ram seems to know lots of things and everywhere with heck-care. When I first emailed him after the crash, he replied he's posting at Delphi 3-in-1 and some foreign forums, no problem, don't worry etc. That's why I went Delphi for Plan B.

You must give the PAP credit for discreetly planting the seed of snobbery into ordinary Singaporeans.

If people who think that they're better qualified than some opposition candidates look down on them, it's something that I can understand. This is the reason why there is a tirade of attacks against GMS most people are not impressed by his command of the English language, and if these people think they speak better English than GMS then I can understand their grouses.

When I say PAP has successfully cultivated a nation of snobs, I'm referring to people who are not well educated yet dare look down of some opposition candidates. The reason ? Because they compare them with PAP candidates, and they used the qualifications of PAP candidates to look down on opposition candidates. This is what I would call "transferred snobbery". I think Ivebert is one those.

For all her sway and swagger, Lily Neo dare not vote against PAP even if she disagrees with the policies.

It's the vote that matters, not how well you speak in Parliament.

Singaporeans like the farts of the degree holders huh ? You mean their farts are fragrant, is it ? What did Sun Yet-san in the drama series "For The Sake Of The Republic" had said ? Even a prostitute can become the state president too if she has a heart for the country.

There is one in a forum who will rather 'throw away' his vote if the opposition candidate is found wanting in his own eyes (ie. poor career or educational background). So what ! Didn't those evil serpents came from well to do families and good universities ? And what's happened ? Most forums are anti-pap. You should be building them temples and casting bronze statues to worship them instead.

We need strategies. The more oppo, the merrier. Just dilute the acid.

There is nothing wrong. It's all about championing snobbery.

The psychology is if you keep harping on something and show your disdain against that something, people may come to think of you as the complete opposite of that something you appear to show disdain.

Ramseth claims that he's O Levels and regular police constable only. I find that unbelieveable from reading his postings over the past half a year. He's certainly more intelligent and knowledgeable than many of us here, yours truly included. I think he's pulling legs for amusement, with implied insult to those with papers but without brains.

One thing I can't figure is, why's he supporting a madman like GMS?
